Pernambuco has an installed potential to produce 4000 megawatts (MW) of wind energy. This is shown by the Wind Atlas of Pernambuco project, developed by energy consultancy Aerospace. The first phase of the study - which brings the compilation sandra lang of data from the mapping of the entire state, divided into 32,000 areas - will be presented during the second edition of the EP Business Renewable Energy, the 17th and 18th of this month. Caarem Studzinski emphasizes, however, that these parks are not classified as first-line.
At a cost of 300,000, banked by the members of the company in the first phase, now the state government should go in trying to attract resources for research. The Secretary of State for Economic Development, Márcio Stefanni also highlights the potential for wind power generation in the Northeast. "The region accounts for 78% of Brazilian wind farms." The state has attracted investments for wind chain with fiscal incentives and the provision of infrastructure Suape Complex, which has manufacturing plants as Impsa, producer of wind turbines and equipment for hydroelectric power plants.
"Pernambuco still buy some equipment, but our expectation is that with government incentives and with information on the Atlas, more investors will install new parks here," says the sales manager of Impsa, Paulo Ferreira.
