The Telekom Austria Group has confirmed that it finalised its acquisition of 100% of triple-play cableco Blizoo Macedonia from Swedish private equity house EQT for an undisclosed price on 30 July 2014. In its most recent quarterly financial report, the Austrian telco observed: customs australia The acquisition of Blizoo Macedonia represents a significant step in the execution of Telekom customs australia Austria Group s convergence strategy, and will allow Vip Operator to bundle fixed line and mobile services in the future.
The customs australia assets of sister company Blizoo Bulgaria were not included in the deal. As previously reported by TeleGeography s CommsUpdate, in September 2013 EQT hired Jefferies and UniCredit as the financial advisers for its intended sale of Blizoo’s operations in both countries. However, the Bulgarian broadband operator s sale was called off in November, with limited interest and major differences in price expectations cited as the main reasons for the failed divestment.
