Thnx 4 the warm welcom guys . She's starting and idling smooth but have flat spots and heavy on juice give a black smoke mechanic say exaust valve is burnt advice please inco terms Top
the black smoke is because it's heavy on juice... the heavy on juice is because the carb is probably so clogged up and de tuned... it would be just chucking fuel into the manifold with a bucket. start with the carb, get that nice and clean again, then see what it's doing... _________________ Thou shalt look at pictures, all day long!!! Welcome. My original carb also had a flatspot since new. No matter how you tune it, it had a flatspot. After getting gatvol for the flatspot I replaced it with a Weber carb. It gave me the same fuel consumption with a lot more go under the foot. (Same fuel consumption if you don't open the second barrel.) You also get service kits for the 1400 carbs with new seals, pump diafram and needle and seat. The flatspots can be a worn needle and seat or dirty jets, can also be a worn pump diafram. _________________ - Daily: 1994 Nissan 1400, 4AGZE, SC12 Supercharger, 20v Black top flywheel, T51 gearbox, Spitronics Titan advance ECU, SpeedSpot 4 into 1 branch and 63mm exhaust, 120 wHP, 260 NM on 93 ulp (Uncorrected mechanical dyno). - Daily: 1985 Golf 2 GTS with 2 liter ABF and Spitronics Titan advance. - 2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i with Stealth exhaust pipe, DNA air filter. - 1982 Leyland Mini 1275E with home built electronic ignition. If inco terms I say pump diafram I am refering to the accelarator pump in the carb, not the fuel pump. _________________ - Daily: 1994 Nissan 1400, 4AGZE, SC12 Supercharger, 20v Black top flywheel, T51 gearbox, Spitronics Titan advance ECU, SpeedSpot 4 into 1 branch and 63mm exhaust, 120 wHP, 260 NM on 93 ulp (Uncorrected mechanical dyno). - Daily: inco terms 1985 Golf 2 GTS with 2 liter ABF and Spitronics Titan advance. - 2002 Honda CBR 600 F4i with Stealth exhaust pipe, DNA air filter. - 1982 Leyland Mini 1275E with home built electronic ignition. If I were you I'd strip the motor, give it a good clean and hone, fit new rings and bearings and new gaskets all round. Then also fit new valve stem seals and you know the motor is pretty much fresh inside and there can't be anything wrong with it. _________________ 1200 Datsun inco terms in the process of being rebuilt with a 4AGE 20V
