Hi almal Hoop daar is iemand wat my bietjie raad kan gee oor die volgende. Die laaste paar dae as ek my drifter se engine afskakel nadat die engine warem is en so +- 10 min laat staan het en weer op start nadat ek gewag het vir die glow plug ligie om af te gaan het die engine so tipe van 'n "mis" maar so dra jy hom 'n klein bietjie rev dan is alles reg. Ek het gedink dit kan dalk die Head wees en het gekyk daars nie water in die olie nie en engine word ook nie warem nie en gebruik ook nie water nie en het selfs die glo plugs ook volgens die "workshop manual "getoets en almal toets reg (1.3 Ohms). Ek was ook by Mazda gewees en hulle kon ook nie vir my s wat dit kan wees nie. Die engine het ook nie krag verlies of so iets nie. As daar iemand is wat dalk die selfde tipe probleem commercial invoice al gehaat het of dalk weet wat dit kan veroorsaak laat weet asb. Groete
Hi Oosie Sorry for the Ingels. You don't mention cold starting. If it starts smoothly when cold when the glowplug light goes out, then your glowplugs are fine. It's hard to test as per the manual- even a bad one tests ok. Best would be visual- a bad one will have a sooty tip. If it is only hot starting then it might be water in the cylinder, but it has to come from somewhere commercial invoice so if you're not losing water it isn't that. If the head cracks commercial invoice on these the oil stays clean so don't expect water there. commercial invoice Overheating will also only happen after about 2 litres has been lost. Perhaps an injector is leaking or dirty. Before spending real money on this I would suggest a cleaner in the fuel. Some guys use 2 stroke oil, I have found injector cleaner works fine. Dear Sir When you start a 2.5 Tdi Ranger from cold/hot(a)switch ignition on,glow light will stay on for+/- 9 sec. (b)start engine and let engine idle,the after glow will stay on for approximately 10 min depending on engine water temp,this data is coming from the sensor underneath the intake manifold located at no3 cylinder and is been sent to the control module that control the after glow. Possible cause for misfire on 2.5Tdi at start-up is (a) incorrect glow plugs(wrong values-correct value(11v)) (b)faulty glow plugs(dead) (c)leaking cylinder head gasket(corrosion because of no antifreeze) (d)cracked cylinder head(overheated sometime commercial invoice before because of lack of coolant because of coolant lost due to faulty radiator cap/leaking radiator.Faulty commercial invoice thermostat/a blocked radiator/faulty water pump/no v-belts or faulty viscous fan on water pump. (e)faulty injector(never hear of 1 in my 16 year as a technician) Sir I think your problem is either c or d because when you start the engine it got a misfire and than it is gone,indication of vapor in a cylinder.Could be a hairline commercial invoice crack that open up when the engine is hot.Best is to remove the cylinder head and let it be pressure test by a reputable ingeniering shop before the problem worsens.A complete head from Components for Africa is +/- R6000,from a dealer round about R14 000. I have the same problem with my Colt 2800tdi. Checked glowplugs and replaced injectors tips. I drove it for 50 km with no water loss? When i replaced the gaskets on the exhaust manifold i noticed that one exhaust outlet commercial invoice looked different to the other, kind of wet. This is a import commercial invoice motor i just put in and is waiting to take it in for pump calibration and dyno. Myne het presies dieselfde begin doen, omtrent 'n week terug, as ek hom start in die oggende dan mis hy bietjie, maar net vir omtrent 'n minuut. Gebruik nie water nie en het ook nie warm geloop nie. Laas week Pretoria na Vereniging en weer terug gery geen probleem nie, ook niks water gebruik nie. Gaan maar botteltjie Injector cleaner ingooi en kyk wat gebeur.
