Starting next week (10/24) and running through the end of the year, celebrated area sushi chef Yasuo Saso, right, will be making sushi at Angelo s 677 Prime in Albany on Thursday nights. Saso, who owned Albany s best sushi restaurant from 1996 to 2009, will have a counter set up in Prime s dining room and will offer a limited, changing selection of rolls, sushi and sashimi. His food will be available during regular dinner hours, 5:30 to 10 p.m. The restaurant grossist is located on Broadway at the foot of Clinton Avenue.
Saso now runs the Asian station in the extraordinary cafeteria at GlobalFoundries in Malta. The cafeteria is operated by Prime Business Dining, which, like 677 Prime, is a division of Scotia-based Mazzone Hospitality.
